Soon we’ll be celebrating the best and most inspiring side of UK midwifery at the 2014 annual RCM Awards, so to get in the mood, we thought we’d raise a toast to the lighter side of 2013.
The ‘atta girl! award
Winner: Sheila Kitzinger
For being a 84 year old woman who simulated an orgasm on stage at the RCM Student Conference in Telford in November
The ‘outside the box’ award for creativity
Winner: Rachel Giaccone
For crafting a range of maternity training props on a shoestring to use with midwives in Ethiopia. Read her blog about it here.
The Cake Expectations award
